Star Awards
As part of our recognition of effort, achievement, and success within the school, we award a range of stars to our students.
On the last day of each term, we have a special Star Awards Assembly where we celebrate the success of students who have been outstanding in the classroom throughout the term.
The star color given in these assemblies is red, signifying academic achievement.
To make these awards special and meaningful, we limit the number of awards given at each assembly. In a class of 35 or fewer students, up to five stars can be awarded.
Specialist Classes
At the end of each specialist class cycle, red stars will be awarded for outstanding success and effort in the following subjects: visual art, music, dance and drama, science, design technology, and food technology.
Kauri Awards
To recognize exceptional achievement, Kauri awards are given as follows:
– Bronze Kauri: Awarded upon accumulating two stars each in red, green, blue, and yellow, plus any two additional stars, totaling 10 stars.
– Silver Kauri: Awarded upon accumulating four stars each in red, green, blue, and yellow, plus four additional stars, totaling 20 stars.
– Gold Kauri: Awarded upon accumulating six stars each in red, green, blue, and yellow, plus six additional stars, totaling 30 stars.
– Platinum Kauri: Awarded upon accumulating eight stars each in red, green, blue, and yellow, plus eight additional stars, totaling 40 stars.
A chosen staff member will record information for students eligible for a Kauri award.
